Community

We are hoping to be able to work with our community to help with special needs kids in high school and teach some of the children life skills.

What are life skills?

Life skills are teaching them to take instruction and follow the instruction to complete a task.  We are working with the kids to teach them horse and animal care.  Since they are all fairly new to the farm, we are starting them with easy tasks such as grooming a well trained horse and keeping the barn swept.  We will continue their skill levels as they continue to grow and learn more.

We are currently working with our local Girl Scouts!

I have been amazed at the energy these kids have.  And thankful to them and their entire families!  They have been out several times and have worked on getting the trees down from around a barn you couldn't even see!  Thanks to their dads and their chainsaws!!  The kids also gathered trash and metal from over at least a 5 acre area to make it safe for horses.  We hope to have that pasture area up and ready for horses in the spring!
